Indian Head Massage
How it works.
Indian Head Massage has been practised for 1000’s of years and is commonly practised daily in India by families.
It can benefit the client both physically and mentally. It can help restore the energy flow of the body creating a feeling of balance and calm.
It works on the muscles to relax tense and tired muscles, therefore relieving muscular tension and fatigue. Massage increases circulation bringing oxygen to the muscle tissue, which helps to remove waste products (lactic acid) more efficiently. As a result this relieves muscular fatigue. Tense muscles can relax during massage, which can benefit greater joint mobility and greater movement in muscles.
It can improve circulation, which aids the nourishment of cells and encourages healing. It may also improve the lymphatic flow aiding the elimination of accumulated toxins and waste products, resulting in the stimulation of the immune system.
It stimulates the nerve supply, which can calm a painful area and also result in an area feeling revitalised.
It can have a beneficial effect on the skin as the function of the glands in the skin are stimulated through the treatment. The sebaceous glands may be encouraged to produce more oil to create soft supple skin and to help maintain moisture of skin.
The sweat glands may be stimulated resulting in the removal of waste products from the skin. The top layer of dead cells may be massaged away enabling the skin to breathe easier and result in the skin acquiring a healthy glow.
Benefits may include: Relaxation of muscles, toxins can be released from tense knotted muscles, relief from neck and shoulder stiffness, improved circulation to provide the brain and muscles with extra oxygen, stimulation of lymph flow, improvement in joint mobility, promotion of hair growth, improvement of sleep disorders, relief from headaches, relief from sinus problems, relaxation, increased energy levels and more.
